7 Reasons to Include Mount Meru in Your Tanzania Adventures

While Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania’s iconic peak, often overshadows its neighbor, Mount Meru, this dormant volcano offers a unique and rewarding hiking experience. Here are five compelling reasons to consider including Mount Meru in your Tanzania adventures:

  1. Stunning Scenery: Mount Meru boasts breathtaking vistas as you traverse diverse landscapes, from lush forests to alpine meadows. The summit views are truly unforgettable, with panoramas of valleys, forests, and meadows, all framed by the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance.

  2. Rich Wildlife Encounters: Unlike many mountains, Mount Meru is teeming with wildlife, thanks to its location within Arusha National Park. Keep an eye out for buffaloes, antelopes, monkeys, giraffes, and even elephants as you ascend.
